How do I install the CRG Hindsight Lanesplitter Bar End Mirror Kit on a Triumph Street Twin?

Installation Steps:

Remove the Stock Mirror:

  • Start by removing the rubber cap covering the mounting hardware.
  • Locate the two nuts securing the mirror. The bottom nut is the one to loosen using a 14mm wrench.
  • Unscrew the mirror from the assembly.

Install the Block-Off Cap (Optional):

  • Depending on the kit, you may have a block-off cap to cover the hole left by the removed mirror.
  • Use a 5mm Allen key to install and tighten the block-off cap. If the cap is hard to turn by hand, insert a small Allen key (around 1.5mm) into the designated hole to aid in tightening.

Repeat for the Other Side:

  • If replacing both mirrors, repeat the same process for the other side.
  • Be mindful of the master cylinder reservoir, as it is held in place by the stock mirror mount. Support it while loosening the nut to prevent it from falling.

Optional: Replace the Clamp and Relocate the Master Cylinder Reservoir:

  • Remove the existing clamp using a T30 Torx bit.
  • Carefully avoid disconnecting brake fluid hoses to prevent leaks.
  • Use a 5mm Allen key to remove the screws securing the master cylinder.
  • Install the new clamp and align the master cylinder using the provided spacer and screws.
  • Ensure the reservoir remains upright before fully tightening.

Install the CRG Hindsight LS Mirror:

  • Loosen the mirror clamp slightly with a 4mm Allen key.
  • Slide the mirror onto the bar end and snug it up, ensuring even gaps on both top and bottom.
  • Adjust friction so the mirror is secure but still adjustable.

Secure the End Cap and Final Adjustments:

  • Position the mirror flush with the end cap.
  • Tighten the top and bottom screws to secure it in place.
  • Ensure the mirror moves freely but stays in position.
  • Repeat for the other side, if applicable.

00:00:26    hi i'm james with british customs today we'll be installing the crg bar end mirror kit on this 2022 triumph street twin we want to start by removing this rubber cap and under here you'll find two nuts one of these is just a lock nut that keeps the mirror locked in place when you adjust it we want to remove from the bottom nut here using a 14 millimeter wrench just loosen it up and then spin the mirror out depending on which kit you bought you'll either receive a whole block off kit that you would just screw in

00:01:12    to block off this hole where the mirror once was or you can completely get rid of this nub by installing this kit with a five millimeter allen you remove those and put this on tighten it up when you're screwing in this cap it will you'll find a tight spot most of the time where you can't turn it by hand that happens there's a small little hole right here that goes all the way through if you use your smallest allen key should be like a 1.5 millimeter fits right in there if you don't have that just find anything that fits in there

00:01:47    that's not too big that will scratch up your anodizing and just use that to turn it in so you get all the way down and that'll allow you to make it nice and tight so we want to repeat the same thing on this side we're going to pick up the rubber cap and again we want to remove from the bottom nut in this situation you have the mirror is holding this master cylinder reservoir on so you want to make sure you don't just let that drop down i'm going to hold it so when you loosen it it doesn't fall and scratch something

00:02:38    then we can take our cap put that on and again using our one and a half millimeter allen or something that fits in there without scratching anything and tighten it up the other option we have is to replace this whole clamp that gets rid of this nub completely here in order to do that we need to relocate the master cylinder reservoir so using your t30 torx bit take this screw off you want to be careful not to disconnect any of these hoses because if you leak out dot four brake fluid it will ruin

00:03:45    the paint on your gas tank and you don't want to introduce air into your brake system either next step i'm going to do is remove this cap which you wouldn't have had to do if you got the kit so it doesn't matter so using your five millimeter allen hex bit remove these two screws holding your master cylinder in place so you don't drop it and you can try and keep your alignment if not you can readjust it after you get it all together put the clamp kit you want to hold it here start with your bottom screw

00:04:53    install that using your four millimeter allen hex bit you want to snug that screw up now you can let go of your master cylinder and it won't fall get the longer screw from the kit put it through your reservoir and put the spacer so it goes in between now you have to turn this hose so you can get the screw in again using your four millimeter allen hex bit snug this screw up you may have to loosen the bottom screw a little bit to get your alignment so that you don't strip your screw threads out you want to make sure your reservoir

00:06:28    straight stays straight up and down start by installing the mirror on the bar if it doesn't fit because it's too tight you can loosen it up with your four millimeter allen hex bit and just loosen it just enough to get it on there if you make it too loose you don't want the mirror to fall out of there so just make it loose enough to get on there start by stunging it up little by little on each one trying to keep the gaps even with each other you need to have friction on this mirror to hold it in place but you don't want

00:07:10    to have so much friction that you can't move it install the end cap using your four millimeter allen hex bit loosen the mirror and pull it back even with your end cap tighten top and bottom until the mirror stops moving you can move up and down move back and forth and repeat on the other side the mirror on the bar using your four millimeter allen hex bit align it and snug it up a little on the bottom a little on top try to keep the gaps even as you can and make sure it holds the mirror install your end cap

00:08:48    loosen the mirror until you can get it to slide bring it back flush with the end cap mirror can move make it a little bit tighter than that there we go goes in and out still goes up and down and around and that's it you
